The Customer
Two large NHS Foundation Trusts faced challenges in producing artwork for their Patient Information Leaflets using Microsoft Word. This process led to issues including missing words or text misalignment when transferred to industry-standard publishing software for creating and editing complex page layouts.
The Challenge
Issues encountered by the customer included:
- Inefficient Workflow: Creating artwork in Microsoft Word required manual transfer to publishing software, leading to errors.
- Errors in Text Transfer: Words were often missed, and text moved during the transfer process, causing delays and additional corrections.
The Plan
- Template Creation: Our studio team developed a template that allows the Trusts to input their text directly while keeping logos and brand guidelines static. This enabled users to type their text requirements directly into the provided template
- Dropbox Integration: Finished artwork is uploaded to Dropbox, streamlining the review and approval process.
- Static Elements: Logos and brand guidelines are fixed in the template to maintain consistency.
The Results
- Quicker Turnaround Times: The new process significantly reduced the time required to produce Patient Information Leaflets.
- Cost-Savings: Minimal studio intervention led to cost savings and resulted in lower production costs
- Improved Quality & Error Reduction: Eliminating the manual transfer of text minimised errors and improved the accuracy of the final product. Additionally, consistency in logos and branding improved the overall quality of the materials.
